Collection Phrónesis – BM
A eutopic landscape of a city that really does exist in the middle of a desert, where everything is real, but immersed in an original surrealism.
New World is a dream, with characters from another world, with a bikini and an umbrella, a couple that is moved and gaze with intensity holding hands. It is an intense equilibrium within a surprising complexity.
New World, it is an image, part of the collection Phronesis, that shows us the subtle limit among the infinite existing possibilities, simultaneous possibilities of reality. It honours practical wisdom. The evidence of modern ethics. A tribute to a new world, ours, that has just begun here, in this dream.
Is this a painting, a drawing? This is a photograph.
New World wants to show the subtle limit among the infinite possibilities of reality. It is a photograph made with personal digital techniques. This is the essence that goes beyond rational perception. It is a journey, it is the feeling that another world can always exist.

Part of our hidden nature is the eternal dream for freedom.
We are swinging freely in the middle of nowhere, in an ethereal landscape, unreal, that provides us another chance to choose continuously how to exist in our life.
The theorem of Burning Man is life in Black Rock Desert. An endless extension, a parquet of cracks drawn in the limestone dust of Nevada, in the United States, at 1.400m above sea level. An ethereal landscape, Daliesque, unreal. During the night the vast plain is covered by cold mysticism, before the sun takes the space with all its power. We would say the moon. The world most surreal city, the “city of the desert”, is built by seventy thousand people, an enormous half circle, visible even from satellites, that every year appears towards the end of August to recreate again the ephemeral world of Burning Man.
Black Rock City stands on its feet, built in a bit over a week, it lives a blast during 8 days and then it disappears, it fades like a ghost boat, leaving no trace. It is not a party, nor a rave, but a gigantic human artwork instead, representing the most unbelievable co-living experience in the world.
Light In The Dust, 2013

A stellar sight where mythological figures complete the horizon immersed in dust. The fog takes the imagination to a different level. Black and white reveals some elegant color. The light outlines the silhouettes. An image that is more than real. It’s another planet. It’s our own very personal “another planet”.

After the sunset, the sun leaves behind a light that is pure elegance. The silhouette of allegoric human figures is the ecstasy of joy, they are the fruit of the imagination. They are shadows left behind in the cave that finally see the world, without the barriers of walls, chains, senses.
The details are barely perceived. Human existence is wonderful because of its nuances and complexity. The horizon with this aforementioned atmosphere highlights the sensation of a complete and true existence.
This image represents the anthem of a refined elegance.
We live times of algorithms, where rational logic in excel format seems to contain all reasons of human existence. The scientific method, based on proofs verifiable by the five senses, wants to include and understand everything. But it is not possible to understand with senses what, by its nature, belongs to the incomprehensible, to spirituality, to conscience.
Like it is in Plato’s Allegory, we are like human beings, prisoners with chains around our necks, far at the end of a dark cave facing the wall. A burning fire behind us throws out the shadows.
The truth shines in all its complexity outside the cave while we believe in some simple and distinguishable dark shapes.

Every morning I awaited the sun, after a cold night full of stars. I was waiting for the heat, the new life of this infinite plain, sitting on a sofa in the middle of the desert.
Very slowly the colours change. Everything turns warm, orange-like, until you can see violet in the sky. I feel lucky I can watch it, I can enjoy this. Until just now there were stars raining down, millions of lights that stood strong despite the multicolour lasers of the city.
Breaking Dawn is meditation, dark cracks with pinky reflections of the first rays of sun. It is the peace of a moment that we have to taste slowly. Every day.
